CAS PROJECT PROPOSAL Sample
CAS PROJECT - CHARITY WORK FOR DISABLED KIDS IN IRAN 10 hours Creativity, 10 hours Action, 10 hours Service

How it is achieved
Creativity
- Planning various ideas on how to raise awareness and collect funds for the project
Action
- Physical participation will be going to the charity center and helping out 2 or 3 times a week
- Going to mosques to collect any donations
- Going to buy the clothing and the materials needed to make the clothing
- Going to NGO's to create an agreement for them to donate weekly or monthly
Service
- Voluntarily going to the charity and helping out with anything needed
- Helping with the making of the clothing
1. Global importance: Show that special needs kids are as important as us.
2. Documentation: Work will be documented through short videos and journal enteries.
3. Shipping: Shipping will be done through family and friends
Learning benefit:
1) Clearly understanding the difficulties that these children go through everyday
2) Learning about how to make more connections for charities so that they can earn more donations
3) Duration & Frequency of Event
-1 month, during summer in Iran, Tehran
4) Detailed Description of components of project, goals, learning outcomes & how learning outcomes will be achieved.
Goals:
-To raise enough funds to purchase clothing for 30 children
-To raise enough clothing to donate to about 50 children
-Raise awareness about the difficulties of the lives of the disabelled children in the Iranian community.
-To try to coordinate with DAA for helps and fundings, which will then be posted or personally delivered to the charity and then with a presentation or short letter will show proof and thanks to the DAA community.
B) Components of Project, Learning Outcomes Involved and How They Will Be Achieved
Pre-trip Activities:
1) Meetings with DAA principle
a. Learning outcomes: Working collaboratively with others, planning and initiating activities
b. To communicate to see funds and donations could be collected within the next year through school events.
Trip Activities:
2) Mosque Donation
a. Learning outcomes: Planning and initiating activities, Working collaboratively with others, Undertaking new challenges
b. To start raising funds to purchase clothing and to collect clothing , the team will be going to different mosques around Iran to ask for permission and help for the Charity.
c. There will be awareness created within the Iranian community by the announcements that will be made before or after the prayers are made.
3) NGO Donation
a. Learning outcomes: Planning and initiating activities, Working collaboratively with others, Undertaking new challenges
b. To continue raising funds the team will go to different NGO's in Iran to see what collaborations could be done in order to raise as many donations as possible
c. There will be awareness created within different NGO groups and donations could be carried on after the activity is finished.
4) Local Tailor Donation
a. Learning outcomes: Planning and initiating activities, Working collaboratively with others, Undertaking new challenges
b. To continue raising funds the team will go to local tailor shops within the streets of Iran to see if they will be interested in creating clothing for free when the material is given to them or if they would like to done already made clothing.
c. Also we will be asking if we could have a donation box located in their shop for the charity so that costumers could donate any amount of money.
c. There will be awareness created within small communities that are surrounding the local tailor shops.
5) Raising awareness through school assembly
a. Learning Outcomes: Engaged with issues of global importance, ethical implications
b. Planning to create a short video about my experience with this charity and to show why this is of global importance and how the smallest contributions could help out a small charity. This will also show the audience about our ethical responsibilities to give to the needy and underprivileged.
c. Through the reflection of our successes during the trip, we will create a learning summary of what went well and what could be improved. We will recap the importance of this activity and give valuable information for those undertaking this project in the future.
